Come On, Come On, Come On, Come On!

The day had finally arrived, Robbie was in town...and so were Roz and Jen!

To avoid the post-concert-rush (aka: Tool-o-rama) they decided to stay at the Cosmo in Brisbane. Also, it was Roz's turn to shout, so Jen was all "I'm there!"
At the hotel, after an hour or so of "what am I gonna wear?" (4 different ensembles each) "how should I have my hair?"(why didn't Jen bring her brush?) they decided to start the 10 minute walk to the venue.

Arriving at Suncorp Stadium at 4:30 (4 hours before game on.... robbie on) it was a bit of a sit-down affair. As they were up close they were PUMPED!! Everyone was chatting, laughing, getting along famously, shoes off, relaaax; when all of a sudden there was a stampede! People were up, panicking and running/pushing to the front, Roz and Jen had to put their shoes on, pick up (lidless) water, phones, etc. all in a matter of seconds. They still managed to hold down an excellent position. However it was now standing up for the next 3 hours, until robbie arrived.

After much time wasting from Sneaky Sound System, (Roz and Jen's constant pointing to their watches did not help matters) Robbie came out, much to everyone's delight!

KH (you know who you are) said "...no cameras are allowed, or any recording equipment, it will be confiscated!" So the GOOD camera stayed home. But alas this proved to be incorrect. (Shots taken with Jen's mobile.)
After 5 hours of standing in sweltering, squashed, cramped conditions, no water, no food, no air, Roz decided that she was close to passing out. Jen took one look at Roz and not wanting a repeat Coldplay-Sally moment, she grabbed Roz's arm, and ejected her from the crowded 'Field A'. (boo!!!)

An excellent night was had by all, Robbie Rocks, even though later he drove past the hotel in his limo deciding not to drop in this time for a cup of tea.

Melbourne

Way back in November 2006, I woke up one morning to discover that two of my family members were missing from the house. Where did they go?? and more importantly....who was feeding me tonight??
Melbourne....Ahhhh four seasons in one day!!
A busy day was spent roaming around the city. All the regular haunts were back...Gopals, D.J's, Food Glorious Food, Southbank, etc.

Bourke Street is always good, particularly at night. The Myer Christmas windows were quite risqué this year, the activities of a featured wombat were very questionable!

Apparently Jemma and Jen weren't too happy about being made to walk all the way from the hotel in Franklin Street to the Rialto Observation Deck at 9pm. No, you heard wrong Jen, Roz didn't say you would all catch a taxi back. (Bwha ha hah : )

Melbourne Zoo was terrific but what's with this lion poking out his tongue?? Other highlights were the elephants, seals and butterfly house.
Jemma's absolute favourite was of course the Meercat. She brought home a stuffed variety named Tuska.
(come here Tuska, lets go out and play)

Sal's House, I hear was once again a culinary delight. Vegie Lasagne, Crepes, Lindt- all the favourites were back! Here's a beautiful shot taken across the road at Red Bluff Cliffs. Brrrrr, looks a bit chilly.

Roz tells me that it was so fantastic catching up with some of her gorgeous, lovely Melbourne friends like Nean, Brettles, Woo-Woo, Sal, Su-Su, Wayney-poo, Dylan and Daniel. Many, many laughs were had. (mostly at the expense of the absent Brenda!!!) Jemma and Roz also enjoyed surprising Mama and Papa with a visit.

It had been too long between trips to Melbourne. Hopefully next visit will be longer to catch up with other lovely Melbournians.

These are new friends 'Zing the Kitty' and 'Buckley the King Charles Spaniel.' I'd like to eat, whoops, I mean meet both of them. I'd be so well behaved on the plane too.
